In the 11th year of Guangxu (Year 1885), Tongshun Tai was established. Cantonese merchants traveled across oceans, establishing branches in ports worldwide and exporting Chinese tea to East Asia, marking a brilliant chapter in modern maritime tea trade. Settling in Bailin, Fuding during the late Qing Dynasty, it partnered with local merchant Zhan to found Guangtai Tea House · Zhan Guangtai, becoming one of the thirty-six historic tea houses on Bailin Old Street. It served as a key hub for exporting Bailin Gongfu Black Tea and Fuding White Tea to Southeast Asia. The site later became the historical foundation of Fuding Tea Factory, witnessing over a century of rise and fall in eastern Fujian's tea industry. After years of heritage preservation, Tongshun Tai has been restored to its original location using traditional methods. The renovation preserves late Qing and early Republic-era wooden courtyards, vintage signs, antique tea utensils, and old ledgers, bringing this century-old tea house back to life amidst everyday human activity.

Today, Tongshuntai is both an immersive historical teahouse and a tea enterprise dedicated to traditional craftsmanship. We honor tradition without rigidity, embrace innovation without compromising authenticity. By preserving the living philosophy of white tea production, we bring a century-old tea brand into the present—so more people can understand and savor the timeless flavor of aged white tea.

Zhan Guangtai Hao is Tongshuntai's premium heritage line, reviving the century-old craftsmanship of Guangtai Tea House with a focus on active white tea. We adhere strictly to sun-withering and slow-roasting over low-temperature charcoal fire, precisely controlling processing temperatures to preserve the tea's natural enzymatic activity. Unlike heat-dried finished teas, Zhan Guangtai Hao white tea retains its ability to evolve after production. Under proper storage conditions, it gradually develops notes of downy aroma, honey sweetness, woodiness, medicinal tones, and jujube fragrance over time. Its character transforms from cooling to warming, becoming smoother and more mellow with age—embodying the true essence of white tea: "One year as tea, three years as medicine, seven years as treasure."
